Case Study 12. Stem and Stone, Premium Home Decor Studio
Industry: Physical Products, Brand and Operations. Timeline: Ongoing.
The Problem.
Most makers can produce. Few build operations that scale. Stem and Stone needed to evolve from a small concrete and resin studio into a brand with consistent product quality, a defensible visual identity, a sales channel beyond local craft markets, and the kind of back-end systems that let a two-person studio operate like a real business.
The Solution.
Built the brand identity, e-commerce platform, content systems, fulfillment workflows, and product photography pipeline. Designed and 3D-printed proprietary molds that competitors cannot replicate. Combined CAD-driven mold design with hand-finished concrete, wood, and resin to produce premium pieces at scale. Treated the studio as a product company with marketing systems, not a hobby.
The Outcome.
A small physical products business with operational discipline that most makers do not have, and a marketing system that most makers cannot build. Demonstrates the cross-domain capability of the firm. Enterprise software, data systems, and physical products manufacturing managed under the same operational discipline.
Today the line includes the Six-Foot Cedar Fan Trellis, the compact “Zen” Four Foot Trellis, handmade cement propagation stations in oval, circle, heart, and kitty shapes, and decorative mailbox posts, with custom pieces made to order. Everything is designed for Florida growers who want edible gardens that look as good as they grow, and is made locally in Cape Coral.
